Grits Grill has been part of the Nags Head breakfast scene since 1999, evolving from its early days alongside Mr. Donut into a restaurant dedicated to Southern breakfast classics. In 2002, the Pritchard family, owners of the much-loved and longstanding Dunes Restaurant in Nags Head, purchased Grits Grill. They phased out the doughnuts, added booths and sharpened their focus on what they do best: breakfast and Southern classics. The same grits recipe the family has used for decades anchors the menu, biscuits are still made fresh every day and the restaurant remains intentionally casual, quick and full of energy.
